We are seeking a Sales Assistant (8 hours) to join a relaxed and friendly team in our Edinburgh Store. Part time position available providing great benefits: Being part of a premium technical apparel brand, competitive salary, product training will be provided and generous staff discount and uniform allowance.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Working as part of the sales team to maximise sales by providing excellent customer service in a clean, tidy and well-merchandised store.
To ensure the smooth operation of the store, maintain the standards of the store and achieve sales targets by:
* Keeping displays and the shop floor clean and tidy at all times.
* Operating the till and accurately handling cash, cheque and card transactions.
* Cashing up and banking accurately in accordance with Finance procedures.
* Assist in changing displays in accordance with visual merchandising guidelines.
* Receiving deliveries, unpacking stock to replenish the shop floor or stock room.
* Assist with stock take activity (this may need to occur out of normal trading hours)
* Be vigilant at all times to minimise stock loss or fraudulent transactions.
* Assisting customers in store, providing exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate would have:
* Experience in retail clothing store-based role (Essential)
* Have a good understanding of what constitutes great customer service
* Be aware of common retail Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Be driven to seek continuous improvement and be the best in the business
* Take pride in everything they do and be keen to work to consistently high standards
* Be familiar with word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel)
* An interest in sports and/or outdoor pursuits would be beneficial but not necessary.
This role will require the successful applicant to work some weekends and bank holidays on a variable shift pattern.
