Role: Building Surveyor – London – (JPC-90)

Overview
We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join a well-established consultancy delivering a varied
portfolio of residential, public sector, mixed-use and regeneration projects across London and
the South East.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of remediation and new-build residential
schemes, working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting both pre- and post-contract project delivery and client liaison.
Key Responsibilities
Building Surveys & Technical Reporting
* Undertake detailed building inspections across residential and public-sector assets
* Prepare building pathology reports, defect diagnosis and technical assessments
* Review drawings, prepare audit checklists and maintain accurate project documentation
Pre-Contract Duties
* Organise and manage investigations, surveys and due diligence
* Prepare and assist with tender documentation, including Employer’s Requirements and
* specifications
* Support procurement using JCT Design & Build and JCT PCSA contracts
* Assist with value-for-money assessments
* Attend and minute pre-contract meetings
Post-Contract Duties
* Run remediation and new-build residential projects with increasing autonomy
* Carry out regular site inspections and progress monitoring
* Issue instructions, certificates and notices
* Liaise with contractors and consultants to support programme and cashflow
* management
* Undertake snagging, de-snagging and assist with handover processes
* Maintain risk registers and contribute to project programmes
Client & Stakeholder Liaison
* Work directly with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Developers and public-sector
* clients
* Provide clear, timely updates and professional advice
* Build and maintain strong client relationships
Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline
* Typically 2–5 years’ Building Surveying experience
* Strong understanding of building pathology, Building Regulations and JCT contracts
* Experience working on residential, remediation, refurbishment or regeneration projects
* Ability to manage projects independently and prioritise workload effectively
* Full UK driving licence
