The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our sector-leading Lucion Ground Engineering team in Peterborough. Ground Engineering is the successor to Soils Engineering, which was in turn the successor to Pre-Piling Surveys Ltd, a company originally founded back in 1936. Now part of Lucion, the services provided by Ground Engineering are available within the wider portfolio of Lucion’s services.
You will become an integral part of our ground engineering team, managing and delivering a range of fast-paced projects related to geo-environmental and geotechnical investigations for a wide variety of projects across the UK
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated graduate with a keen interest in geotechnical / geo-environmental consultancy. The successful candidate will have a relevant Geology degree, excellent communication skills, effective time management and organizational abilities, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
* Field Operations: Conduct and oversee the company's fieldwork activities.
* Data and Report Management: Help in preparing data and reports alongside project and senior staff.
* Project Coordination: Manage project resources, including suppliers and subcontractors, to meet project timelines efficiently.
* Technical Proficiency: Utilize software and technical documents to assess data and achieve project outcomes.
* Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and enhance knowledge of geo-environmental laws and conceptual design.
* Communication: Maintain professional interactions with all team members and stakeholders.
* Project Evaluation: Assess sites for tender considerations and conduct desk studies.
Please note: This position is based at our Peterborough office and relocation (if you do not live locally already) would be required.
Knowledge and Skills
* A degree in Geology
* Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a small team.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
* Flexibility for travel across the UK
* Good organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills, including MS Office.
* Full UK driving license (essential).
