The Opportunity
We’re creating a brand‑new leadership position for a Sales Commercial Manager to shape and deliver our sales and commercial strategy, driving sustainable growth, profitability, and alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
Your role will oversee all commercial sales activity, from opportunity development through to contract handover, ensuring the business operates profitably, competitively, and consistently with our values.
Acting as the commercial bridge between departments, you’ll unite Sales, Estimating, Operations, and Finance to align client expectations, commercial objectives, and operational delivery, safeguarding our reputation for quality, reliability, and long‑term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
* Develop and implement the sales and commercial strategy to achieve growth and profitability targets.
* Lead, mentor, and support the Business Development Manager and Estimating Team to ensure performance, efficiency, and collaboration.
* Oversee pricing, tendering, and contract negotiations to protect commercial interests and manage risk.
* Review and approve major bids, proposals, and framework agreements.
* Monitor pipeline activity, sales forecasts, and performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
* Act as the key link between Sales, Estimating, Design, Operations, and Finance, ensuring smooth project delivery.
* Work closely with the Operations Manager to align client requirements with operational capability and quality standards.
* Facilitate regular cross‑functional reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Client & Market Development
* Support the Business Development Manager in identifying new markets, sectors, and partnerships.
* Maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and contractors to encourage repeat business.
* Represent the company at industry events and networking functions, strengthening brand reputation.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to guide strategic decisions.
Team Development
* Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the sales and estimating teams.
* Work with HR to develop training plans that support skill growth, curiosity, and professional development.
* Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement across the commercial function.
Marketing & Brand Alignment
* Oversee marketing activities to ensure alignment with company values, heritage, and market positioning.
* Support website content, promotional materials, and campaigns that reflect the company’s brand and ethos.

What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in sales and commercial management, ideally within security fencing, perimeter protection, or construction industries.
* Exceptional networking and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to develop long‑term client and partner relationships.
* Understanding of security‑rated fencing systems and standards (advantageous).
* Demonstrated success in leading sales or estimating teams.
* Expertise in tendering, pricing, contract negotiation, and margin management.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
* Proficient in CRM systems, forecasting, and reporting tools.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
* Must be willing to undergo security clearance due to the nature of our work within sensitive and high‑security environments.
