This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and passionate Substance Misuse Nurse to help shape our vision in delivering clinical services to individuals affected by drugs and alcohol. The Substance Misuse Nurse role is varied; the successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, offering specialist clinical interventions to service users. No two days are the same, and each person is treated as an individual, emphasizing a whole-person approach. Curiosity, good listening skills, clinical robustness, and flexibility are essential.

Manchester
Part Time Hours: 22.5 per week (3 days per week)
Full Time Salary: £37,184.90 - £43,384.61 (pro rata for part-time)
Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, salary and payments are pro-rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
* Undertake physical and mental health assessments when indicated by clinical need, ensuring appropriate signposting or referral to primary or secondary healthcare services.
* Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV). Administer Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated.
* Contribute to CGL's Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in Naloxone use and ensuring distribution at every opportunity.
* Develop therapeutic relationships with people experiencing substance use problems and build effective partnerships.
* Review procedures regularly to promote best and evidence-based practices in line with UK Guidelines, NICE guidance, and CGL protocols.
* Provide harm reduction advice, including information and equipment for injecting drug users, with safe disposal of equipment.
* Record and input client data accurately to meet contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
* First-level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN.
* Experience working within drug and alcohol treatment is desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
* Ability to assess and develop recovery plans and write reports.
* Clinical auditing skills for service evaluation and development.
* Professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and stakeholders.
* Understanding of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other professionals.
