In this role, you’ll play a key part in reviewing and ensuring electrical design deliverables meet high standards and project goals, while providing vital support and leadership to senior electrical engineers. What you’ll be doing: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers to manage quality, time, and cost throughout the electrical design review process. Ensure all electrical deliverables, including LV installations and instrumentation specifications, meet required standards and project specifications. Review and verify electrical designs, schematics, cable calculations, and contractor submissions for accuracy and compliance. Provide timely responses to construction site design queries and manage change requests effectively. Support resource forecasting, recruitment, and performance management of senior electrical engineers within the Business Unit. Lead health and safety compliance, including CDM participation and ensuring designs meet all relevant electrical standards and regulations. Mentor and develop junior staff, including graduates and apprentices, fostering continuous improvement within the electrical team. Drive innovation and transformation by adopting new digital technologies, embedding standard procedures, and supporting sustainable, low-carbon design practices. What you’ll bring: ✅ An engineering, or equivalent, degree, or be able to demonstrate a degree level of ability through relevant experience. ✅ Experience of water-sector assets and capital projects. ✅ Knowledge of all relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice. ✅ Experience of mentoring and coaching of junior engineers. ✅ Previous experience in a Design & Build environment is highly advantageous, but not essential.
