An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Unit Support Manager to join the Surgery 4 within the Surgical Division at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Responsibilities
You will work closely with the Senior Service Manager and the Unit Operational Manager to deliver a comprehensive service to the surgical specialities and ensure waiting time guarantees for the services are met. You should have experience of working to national and local waiting time targets. A positive and proactive approach to your work is essential.
You should have the ability to deal effectively with individuals at differing levels both within and external to the organization and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to forge and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across a range of professional disciplines. A sound knowledge of hospital wide IT systems is essential.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Senior Service Manager, the Unit Operational Manager, Clinical Leads and Theatre Nurse Managers in the operational and strategic management within Surgery 4, which includes Anaesthetics and Theatres.
You will be required to use your initiative to efficiently prioritise work and meet deadlines. You will have strong attention to detail and the ability to get things done. The ability to manage a very busy workload is essential, as is the ability to quickly find solutions and to identify and focus on critical issues when decision making.
Ideally, you will have had previous experience waiting time management and a good knowledge of NHS management policies.
