Permanent, Full‑time. Royal Mail, Farringdon – 3 Days in office per week.
Join a team at the heart of a £7.8bn organisation, shaping the strategic sourcing and supplier relationships behind one of the UK's most recognisable brands. Working across a diverse national and global supplier base, you will lead smart, sustainable procurement decisions that deliver real commercial and operational impact.
Are you an outcome‑driven procurement leader who raises the bar and earns trust through what you deliver? Someone who brings clarity to complex problems, builds strong stakeholder relationships, and raises expectations for what procurement can achieve? If that’s you, we’d love to talk.
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to join our Technology Procurement function. This strategic role is ideal for someone who enjoys challenging convention, driving commercial innovation, and building sourcing frameworks that support both steady‑state operations and Royal Mail’s technology modernisation and digital transformation ambitions.
About the Role
Reporting to the Technology Procurement Director, you will lead across Enterprise Technology and Services, managing one direct report. You will be at the centre of a major enterprise transformation, where you will shape and execute the sourcing strategy across multiple concurrent workstreams, negotiate complex technology contracts, and deliver commercial outcomes that balance value, risk, and long‑term operational resilience.
You will also:
* Serve as the lead procurement partner for Enterprise Technology, owning senior stakeholder relationships across Technology, Business, and Programme leadership.
* Provide visible leadership within the Technology Procurement team, setting clear standards for commercial rigour, category excellence, and stakeholder engagement.
* Drive value through total cost of ownership analysis, competitive tension, and demand management, delivering benefits beyond headline rate savings.
* Actively manage the supply market, tracking technology trends, pricing benchmarks, and best practice to inform sourcing decisions, mitigate risk, and enable innovation.
* Own governance and compliance for Technology procurement, ensuring alignment with policy, regulation, and risk standards, and acting as a commercial escalation point.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute procurement professional with the following:
* A strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders at Director and C‑suite level.
* Experience operating within large, complex organisations, with the ability to manage competing priorities and position procurement as a trusted partner.
* Eight or more years’ experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably with expertise in technology and IT services.
* Proven leadership of large‑scale enterprise technology procurements, including systems integrators, licensing, and managed services.
* Strong financial acumen, with experience managing multi‑million‑pound technology portfolios.
* A robust understanding of procurement governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
