They’re currently seeking an Import Customs Supervisor to lead a team within their customs department. You don’t need to come from a customs background — experience is desirable, but not essential. What matters most is your ability to manage and inspire a team, handle disciplinaries and appraisals confidently, and bring a hands-on, supportive leadership style. This is a people-first leadership role. You’ll be given the autonomy to manage, develop, and guide your team, ensuring quality and performance while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment. Duties Leading and developing a team of Customs Declarants Managing people confidently and fairly — handling disciplinaries, appraisals, and day-to-day support Ensuring customs processes are compliant and timeframes are met Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of accuracy and service Liaising with internal departments and international partnersThe Candidate A proven track record in team leadership or supervisory roles Experience within logistics, transport, or warehouse operations (essential) Confident handling performance management, appraisals, and staff development Customs experience is desirable but not essential — full training can be provided Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach Calm under pressure and solution-focusedBenefits Pension scheme 22 days’ holiday bank holidays (rising to 27 days with service) Life Assurance Cycle to Work Scheme Employee Assistance Programme & Discount Platform
