Children and Young People Services
Looking to return to Social Work?
At Wakefield, we offer SHADOWING OPPORTUNITIES to help you re-register with Social Work England.
What Do We Offer?
1. Reflective Discussions Linking Theory to Practice
We incorporate a collaborative learning and restorative approach to enforce a safe learning space with a non-blame culture. We recognise outstanding work and celebrate success through learning cycles and sharing of best practice.
2. Progression Pathway
Clear career pathways with the opportunity to develop your experience with children, young people and families and receive financial recognition. Advance from G9 to G10, and G10 to G11 with guidance of requirements.
3. Second Supported Year in Employment
The Second Supported Year in Employment (SSYE) is unique to Wakefield Children & Young People’s Service. It allows those that have recently completed their ASYE the opportunity to access a bespoke programme of CPD, case mapping and reflective supervision alongside a cohort of social workers with the same level of experience. The sessions are protected time, which ensures practitioners have the support of management to access continued learning.
4.Designated 1:1 Supervision Programme
We have designed our own designated 1:1 supervision programme aimed to strengthen practice and the continued development of Social Care staff within Children & Young People Service in Wakefield. This support will be tailored to the needs and requirements of each worker to help and support them in their everyday practice as well as development.
