Environmental and Sustainability Manager
An Environmental and Sustainability Manager will use their expertise to promote a positive environmental culture in the workplace. The role involves developing and supporting the Sustainability Strategy and Environmental procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, stakeholder, and customer requirements. A key aspect is fostering a culture of Environmental compliance through regular assurance checks and audits across NTS and its supply chain.
Principal Accountabilities (key areas):
1. Support and advise on the development & review of the sustainability strategy, carbon management plan, and monitor SDG performance.
2. Ensure environmental processes and plans meet relevant standards.
3. Support the development and tracking of the audit schedule.
4. Conduct in-house training sessions on environmental awareness.
5. Ensure compliance through auditing and assurance activities involving NTS staff, supply chain, and contractors.
6. Track and ensure closure of corrective actions.
7. Assist the Head of HSE Nuclear & Assurance in improving the NTS Management system.
8. Provide support to Team Leaders, Managers, and Functional Heads on environmental matters.
9. Represent the Nuclear & Assurance Department at meetings with customers and professional bodies.
10. Communicate audit results and feedback to colleagues and departments.
11. Create environmental communications to improve awareness of key topics and risks.
12. Maintain knowledge of best practices in the Nuclear Rail/Shipping Industry.
