The Opportunity
This is a chance to join a site-based engineering team supporting a major, nationally significant infrastructure project, providing rapid, high-quality mechanical engineering input to keep construction activities moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
* Reviewing and responding to site-raised engineering queries, non-conformances, design changes, and technical exemptions related to mechanical and M&E scopes.
* Providing engineering oversight to ensure nuclear safety, environmental, and regulatory obligations are fully met.
* Carrying out technical and safety assessments of contractor submissions, including categorisation of safety and environmental impacts.
* Working closely with contractors, designers, construction, quality, and project teams to resolve issues and close out technical open points.
* Identifying, assessing, and managing technical risks, while constructively challenging design decisions to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline.
* Background in mechanical systems design, installation, commissioning, or site-based engineering support.
* Experience applying engineering judgement within regulated or safety-critical environments.
* Strong knowledge of construction and installation activities, including health and safety requirements such as CDM and site licensing.
* Confidence working with multiple stakeholders in a live construction environment, with the ability to work autonomously and proactively escalate issues.
