Vet Direct is recruiting for an Assistant Stock Controller based at our warehouse in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. The key responsibilities include:
* Working as part of a team in a busy warehouse, conducting comprehensive monthly cycle counts, ensuring stock accuracy, and highlighting discrepancies.
* Processing customer returns.
* Picking and packing orders as needed.
* Assisting with Goods In processes.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Supporting stock accuracy through cycle counting and investigating deviations.
* Supporting the OrderWise system, processes, controls, and reports.
* Covering stock controller tasks when required.
* Maintaining paperwork and a clean, safe work environment.
* Operating picker/FLT equipment (desirable).
* Training in picking and packing for busy periods or management requests.
Essential experience and skills:
* Ability to challenge the status quo with creative solutions supporting continuous improvement.
* Understanding of GDP and continuous improvement principles.
* Ability to build successful teams in a 'can do' culture.
* Efficient, accurate work skills.
* Good teamwork and understanding of health and safety.
* Flexibility and a good level of fitness.
Desirable skills:
* Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Experience with WMS systems, particularly Orderwise, and use of handheld scanners.
