What You'll Be Doing
* Oversee daily operational routines for energy plant equipment, including steam and hot water boilers, compressed air systems, and water treatment plants.
* Manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient output and high performance; identify training needs and mentor junior staff.
* Ensure all works adhere to health and safety (H&S) policies, including CDM regulations and BG01 standards.
* Act as the primary interface for clients, offering technical solutions to operational issues and attending regular performance review meetings.
* Utilise CMMS (Concept Maintenance Management System) to record and control routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
* Support and manage projects such as energy efficiency improvements, gas conversions, and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring they meet defined milestones and timescales.
* Assist with project budgets, manage project expenditure and report to finance colleagues on project revenues.
* Manage third-party contractors and clients, ensuring they comply with site safety rules and project specifications.
* Be responsible for CDM compliance, including the development of Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and Construction Phase Plans (CPP).
* Liaise with Technical Direction to support project requirements and scope.
What We're Looking For
* Team leadership experience managing a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring high performance, identifying training needs, and mentoring junior staff.
* Contractor management ability, ensuring compliance with project specifications and site safety rules.
* Financial acumen: experience assisting with project budgets, managing project expenditure, and reporting project revenues.
* H&S adherence: expertise ensuring all works adhere to health and safety (H&S) policies, including BG01 standards and CDM regulations.
* CDM compliance: responsibility for CDM compliance, including the development of PCI and CPP.
Technical Qualifications
* NEBOSH qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Project Management Qualification (PMQ).
* Formal qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
