Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, guiding clients in Systems Engineering best practices and methodologies.
- Deliver specialist consultancy on systems engineering challenges, digital modelling, and solution architecture.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements, define problems, and shape solutions that align with business and operational objectives.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring long‑term collaboration and strategic advisory support.
- Manage bids and proposals by providing technically credible, commercially viable solutions.
- Manage systems lifecycle, overseeing key processes such as requirements engineering, verification & validation, and system integration.
- Facilitate workshops and technical discussions, ensuring alignment between engineering teams and business objectives.
- Balance technical innovation with commercial strategy, ensuring solutions are cost‑effective, scalable, and deliver business value.
- Provide thought leadership in Systems Engineering, authoring technical reports and sharing best practices across projects.
- Provide technical mentoring to less experienced team members.
Qualifications
- A degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a Systems Engineering related role.
- Solid understanding of engineering processes and lifecycles (ISO 15288, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical consultancy to clients, with guidance on engineering decisions and best practices.
- Deep understanding of systems architecture, system integration, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering in Cameo, Enterprise Architect or Rhapsody.
- Experience with established Requirements Management toolsets such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody.
- Ability to engage and manage stakeholders, effectively translating technical complexity into actionable solutions.
- Experience supporting bids and proposals with technically sound, commercially viable approaches.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with a strategic mindset towards both engineering and business development.
Desirable Experience
- Solid awareness of emerging technologies and innovation strategies within systems engineering, particularly the use of Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience working in Defence.
