An opportunity has arisen for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our Paediatric Rheumatology CNS team.
We are seeking a children's nurse who demonstrates good clinical skills, has significant paediatric experience, good leadership qualities and a high level of organisational and communication skills to join our Paediatric Rheumatology multidisciplinary team (MDT).
We are looking for an organised, innovative individual to work as part of a dynamic team in providing excellent care, education and training to families and staff virtually, by telephone, face to face and email.
You will act as a resource providing expert advice for healthcare professionals and must be competent to deliver health promotion and education to parents, their families and others.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and innovative nurse with enthusiasm and experience to join our Paediatric Rheumatology Team. This secondment role has been created to enable the existing service to transform and extend it's reach. If the project is evaluated successfully there is the potential for recurrent funding, creating a permanent position.
As a Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be an integral part of a team that sits within the wider Children’s community nursing service, working together to deliver this specialist service to children and families across the primary/secondary care interface. You will bring excellent communication, clinical skills and a desire to maintain and role model a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to inspire our workforce.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide diagnostic and therapeutic care to children affected by Rheumatology conditions. Work collaboratively with Rheumatology services. Support inpatient services at East Surrey, Epsom, Darent Valley, Frimley Park, Lewisham and Canterbury.
A direct point of contact for patients who have condition-specific queries, medication requests or require acute review and/or assistance/advice with symptom management.
To carry out and subsequently report on diagnostic investigations. Review results, discuss as appropriate with MDT and feedback to child and family. Arranging necessary follow up as required
You will be an expert communicator and educator, able to manage complex situations and support children and families through clinic attendance and out of hospital support. Liaison with other centres and all our community partners are key to safety and progression of our patients' care. You will have the opportunity to develop and learn but experience in this area is advantageous.
The CNS role ensures that the child's experience is of the highest quality inspiring child, family and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility and surveillance.

Qualifications and Professional/ Statutory Registration
Essential criteria
1. BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience
2. Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or equivalent post qualification experience.
3. Mentorship/SSAP Qualification
