Ohana Homes runs a successful Registered EBD Children's Home in the local area of Ramsgate. We are currently in the process of working on the opening a second Registered EBD Children's Home which will also be based in Ramsgate.
We are looking for a caring and motivated Level 3/4 Qualified Residential Support Worker to work with children who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role can be challenging, but rewarding so the successful candidate will require resilience, patience, understanding and good parental values.
We are looking to welcome new members to join our small friendly team who can uphold the organisational values of being person-centred, nurturing, collaborative working and family orientated, to contribute to the creation of our family-feel children's homes.
Your Role
As a Level 3/4 Qualified Residential Support Worker, you will be integral in protecting and safeguarding the welfare, growth and development of all children & young people placed in our care. You will be required to support young people in achieving positive outcomes; every day will be varied, interesting and at times challenging. You will follow a planned structure daily, ensuring you are given clear direction with daily tasks you will be required to complete. You will support young people to make positive choices, learn healthy routines, take them to school and appointments, participate in activities, help with education, complete household tasks, and ensure records are up-to-date.
Requirements
We are looking for a someone who:
* Is flexible and able to work varying shifts including sleep-ins as required
* 1 Year's experience of working within children's residential care work
* Has a Level 3/4 qualification in children's residential care work
* Has good levels of numeracy and literacy with qualifications at Level 2 and above
* Is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential
* Has excellent communication and social skills
* Has good IT skills
* Is able to work well autonomously on own initiative
* Is positive, with a 'glass half full' attitude
* Is down-to-earth, friendly, and approachable
* Is motivated and able to motivate others
* Is professional, well-presented and a positive role model
* Is empathetic, compassionate, patient and non-judgemental
* Is a team player
* Is committed to the Safeguarding of young people
* Must drive and have a clean drivers licence
Basic Contracted Hours: 37.5 per week. Extra shifts & sleeps regularly available as over time when the needs of the business dictates to cover annual leave and sickness
Potential Salary:
Qualified Support Worker Rate: £29,692.50 estimated earnings based basic of 37.5 hours per week and one sleep
Qualified Support Worker Rate: £37,935 estimated earnings based on 45 hours and two sleeps per week
Shift Rates: £13.75 per hour for qualified (unqualified rate per hour £12.25)
Sleep Pay Rate: £60 per night for sleep-ins
