The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising, managing, and motivating team members on a daily basis. The Team Leader will serve as the primary contact point for all team members, providing excellent and open two-way communication. They should act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
Accountabilities
Team and People
* Collaborate with other Team Leaders to optimize resource utilization.
* Responsible for manpower and pulse planning.
* Lead and motivate a team of Production Operatives to achieve production goals.
* Delegate tasks, set deadlines, oversee daily operations, and resolve production issues efficiently and effectively to maintain schedules.
* Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
* Identify training needs, provide coaching, manage performance, recognize high performers, and reward accomplishments.
* Listen to team feedback and resolve issues or conflicts.
* Manage performance, timekeeping, housekeeping, and safety practices within manufacturing.
Manufacturing
* Develop expertise in specific disciplines and know key contacts in other areas.
* Initiate plans to minimize manufacturing costs through effective specifications and processes.
* Strive to reduce production times and waste by reviewing methods and factory layout, and support new product trials.
* Manage materials efficiently, including recording usage, ordering parts, managing shortages, and excess stock.
* Assist with CNC, CAD, BOM processes as appropriate.
* Collaborate with design and technical departments to improve manufacturing efficiency, manage non-conformance reports, and resolve production issues.
* Report delays affecting customer deliveries and suggest solutions.
* Implement and analyze quality control programs to meet standards and prevent problems.
* Review space and layout to enhance capacity.
* Ensure team focuses on delivering excellent customer service, quality, and value, maintaining high standards.
* Attend management meetings as required.
* Implement changes related to Variations of Contract (VOC Memos).
Health & Safety
* Ensure equipment is maintained, safe, and used correctly.
* Identify process improvements and champion 5S practices.
* Train team members in safe tool and MHE use.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies.
* Maintain and improve housekeeping standards.
