We're looking for a Head of Regulatory Strategy to join ZEDRA and our central Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) function. Working within the central GRC function at ZEDRA Group level, effectively deputising the Global Head of GRC within a small team in oversight of the wider Risk and Compliance teams operating across the global business. As Head of Regulatory Strategy, you will have specific responsibility for working with the Global Head of GRC to formulate and deliver a revised Target Operating Model and the resulting regulatory and Risk strategy for the entire ZEDRA business in all locations - working with Heads of Compliance in a number of international locations. A key aspect of this role will be to align processes, practices and outcomes against revised operating criteria - working with and influencing other senior leaders to develop ZEDRA's risk cultural framework. You will also be responsible, alongside the Global Head of GRC and others in the Central Compliance Function, for seeking operating efficiency and greater levels of regulatory governance. Creation of insightful and robust frameworks for management reporting of key risk indicators and associated granular event recording, analysis and reporting with robust action planning to positively affect the risk profile of our global business in all of its forms will be a key objective. Knowledge and Experience Substantial experience in creating and executing regulatory risk assessments, control framework effectiveness review and the creation of risk based oversight systems (monitoring plans, control framework elements) Policy drafting and interpretation skills covering multiple regulatory and legal jurisdictions Experience in working functionally across a matrix of locations to gain alignment in process and approach to a common goal. The ability to determine common approach and separate, isolate and protect points of difference required by individual regulators to ensure that we are able to be as efficient as possible whilst upholding and protecting specific local regulatory needs Influencing skills – experience of working with colleagues at all levels to help them understand the importance of good risk and regulatory frameworks, and how to embed good risk practice into daily activity within the business In-depth, detailed knowledge of relevant laws, Regulations, Rules, Codes etc; relevant to the business under oversight, and experience of interpreting and analysing regulatory requirements. A proven ability to convert often abstract regulatory requirements into practical control elements; Suitable professional experience and qualifications in a senior Risk and Regulatory position in a comparable sized organisation, with proven experience of managing a direct team and also a wider team in a matrix setting Excellent organisational skills, creative but pragmatic approach and the desire to challenge the status quo to drive efficiency, increase performance and regulatory compliance; Build and develop relationships with colleagues and regulatory and other bodies; High level of self-motivation and discipline; Ability to use analytical skills to solve problems / design solutions in complex / sensitive situations within the regulatory compliance framework; Recognised internally and externally as a compliance and financial crime expert with excellent technical knowledge. Personal integrity and business acumen that can be flexibly combined to produce pragmatic and robust control decisions aligned to a defined risk appetite. The post-holder must have appropriate professional compliance qualifications or a number of years’ experience in a compliance and financial crime (MLRO/MLCO) role.
