The role involves communicating and working with outside professionals, SENCO, and room leader; therefore, good communication skills are essential.
This nursery in Hertford is looking for one-to-one support for a child attending the preschool room. Although this is a temporary position until September 2024, as the child will be starting school, there is potential for full-time or part-time roles at the setting.
Salary: £11.44 to £11.66 per hour for Level 2/3 practitioners
Hours of work: 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, part-time 18 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
Nursery's requirements:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, colleagues, outside professionals, Nursery Manager & Nursery SENCO
* Knowledge of child development principles and practices
* Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Patience, empathy, and understanding towards children's needs
* Strong organisational skills to plan activities and manage time effectively
* Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues
* Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and situations in the nursery
Job responsibilities:
* Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the nursery
* Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities and programs
* Supervise and engage children in play and learning activities
* Monitor the well-being and development of each child
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour
* Communicate with parents and provide updates on their child's day
* Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the nursery environment
* Follow all health and safety guidelines
