We are recruiting 2 Interim Damp and Mould Surveyors for a leading Social Housing provider based in Staffordshire, supporting property services across the local region on a 3-month contract.
As an Interim Damp and Mould Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying services across housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and fit for purpose. Rate: £35 per hour
Contract: 3-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
Working pattern: Full-time (37–40 hours per week)
About the Company
Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. They are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes and delivering excellent services to their tenants and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting property inspections, including damp and mould surveys
2. Frontline operational role supporting contract delivery and contractor performance
3. Ensuring all works are completed in line with compliance and health & safety standards
4. Managing projects within occupied properties, ensuring minimal disruption to residents
5. Liaising with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication
6. Monitoring budgets and ensuring cost-effective delivery of works
7. Producing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records using internal systems
8. Supporting the delivery of planned maintenance programmes
The successful Interim Damp and Mould Surveyor will have:
9. Proven experience in a similar Building Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing
10. A recognised construction-related qualification ( HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
11. Strong knowledge of Awaab's law and damp and mould
12. Experience managing contractors and overseeing works on site
13. Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
14. Excellent communication and organisational skills
15. Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
16. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
