The Role of the Clerk of Works
A renowned, longstanding multidisciplinary are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join our respected multi-disciplinary consultancy, working across a portfolio of new build residential projects in Milton Keynes, Birmingham, and London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven Clerk of Works, who takes pride in ensuring construction quality, compliance, and excellence from the ground up. You'll join a collaborative, well-established team that delivers some of the most technically ambitious and socially important developments in the region.
Clerk of Works Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking regular site visits to monitor progress and workmanship on residential new builds.
* Preparing clear, detailed, and timely inspection reports with photographic evidence.
* Verifying compliance against contractual drawings, employers' requirements, Building Regulations, and warranty provider standards.
* Identifying and reporting defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances.
* Managing snagging, de-snagging, and end-of-defect inspections with clients and contractors.
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring reports align with company QA processes.
About You / Clerk of Works background
* Membership of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI).
* Proven experience inspecting new build residential projects.
* Excellent understanding of building regulations, construction standards, and defect management.
* Strong written communication skills and report-writing ability.
* Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel between sites.
