Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Archaeologist to support our growing Carlisle office and to supervise fieldwork on projects of all scales. The role involves working independently on smaller jobs, supervising teams on larger projects, or leading small-scale trenching jobs. You may also support larger projects by leading smaller teams within a wider delivery framework, reporting to the Project Lead.
Our Senior Archaeologists assist with report writing, including smaller scale reports with support, and contribute to larger reports. Candidates should have or be willing to develop report writing skills, a working understanding of Harris Matrix software, and the ability to interpret findings on site.
The pipeline of upcoming projects includes local/regional jobs and those requiring working away, for which we offer generous terms.
Ideally, you have:
* Practical experience supervising site work
* Awareness of Risk Assessment and team safety
* A degree in Archaeology (or equivalent experience)
* Driving license
* CIfA Membership at PCIfA or ACIfA level
