We are currently looking for caring and dedicated SEN Tutors in Fernhurst to provide tailored one-to-one tuition for children and young people with additional learning needs.
Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Fernhurst and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available
The Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will support learners outside of a mainstream classroom setting, creating engaging sessions that are adapted to each student’s unique learning style and needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised one-to-one tuition sessions
* Support learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and other additional needs
* Adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to suit individual students
* Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement with learning
* Build strong and supportive relationships with learners and families
* Monitor progress and adjust sessions to support ongoing development
* Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
About You
* Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
* Backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, support work, youth work, or care are welcomed
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
* Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and procedures
* Ability to travel within Fernhurst and nearby areas
