Position Overview
TeamCDDFT speech and language therapy are pleased to advertise an exciting Specialist Speech and Language Therapy post based at Sedgefield Community Hospital. The Band 6 post will be supported by senior staff to ensure that the successful applicant continues to develop a broad range of specialist dysphagia competencies that meet the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy standards. We will provide professional development opportunities to enable career development with a varied and interesting community caseload in a number of different settings including out-patient, residential, nursing homes and domiciliary settings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist assessment, intervention and management for patients with communication and swallowing impairment across acute and community settings.
Support the development of specialist dysphagia competencies and deliver patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* Registered with the Health Professionals Council.
* Completed post-basic dysphagia training or equivalent.
* Experience working with acute communication and swallowing impaired caseloads.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
* This is a Band 6 post.
