Shift Engineer Bedfordshire (MK40) £48,000 (Rising to £50,500 with training) Regular Overtime & Call-Out-Payment Monday-Friday 3-Shift (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6) Weekend Call-Out Cover (£200 per weekend X4 overtime hourly rate when called in) Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer that is making a huge investment in the factory over the next 5 years. Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking to grow the engineering function with the addition of new shift engineers. Role & Responsibilities: Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services Fixing production machinery, industrial processing equipment, conveyors, packaging machinery, automation & controls, PLC's, SCADA Systems, robots, site services, facilities Supporting the engineering shift managers with project work - new machine & production line installs PPM's, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades PLC - electrical fault finding Mechanical fabrication, fitting, machining & welding to make parts & repairs Work as part of a weekend call-out / standby rota when needed (£200 additional payments) Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Must be a multi-skilled engineer (electrical & mechanical) Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with mechanical & electrical qualifications At least 4 years experience previously working in FMCG or packaging manufacturing Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills PLC - electrical fault finding - Siemens Experience of carrying out CI projects, new machine installations Experienced in planning & scheduling PPM work Must be happy covering a weekend call-out / standby cover when needed (additional payments) Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding & machining skills beneficial To apply please email your CV / resume to chrisg@hunterselection.co.uk / 01908 010 438 If you are interested in this position please click 'apply'.
