The Fostering Service in Middlesbrough has an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced social worker as part of the supervision and support (retention team) Social Workers within the fostering service have the responsibility of assessing, supporting, and supervising foster carers.
To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 15% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 15% will be reviewed at the end of March 2027.

As part of this we work closely with social workers for our children who are Looked After. Along with our colleagues we have a responsibility for securing permanence for children with plans of adoptions, long-term fostering, and special guardianship orders.

You will be registered with Social Work England and prepared to work in various locations throughout Middlesbrough. There may be some requirement to work outside of the Middlesbrough area to assess and support foster carers.
