Site Agent - Highways
Location: Oxfordshire
Rate: £360 per day (CIS)
Contract: 2 months (strong scope for extension if you hit the ground running)

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a busy highways and infrastructure team delivering schemes across Oxfordshire. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who can take ownership of site operations from day one and drive safe, efficient delivery.
The Role
As Site Agent, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple highways schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You'll lead site teams and subcontractors while maintaining high standards across HSEQ and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
Manage labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors effectively
Ensure all RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work are in place and followed
Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
Monitor project progress, costs, and resource allocation, flagging any changes early
Keep accurate site records including diaries, ITPs, and as-built information
Support planning of works, including programmes, phasing, and traffic management
Conduct site audits, toolbox talks, and promote a strong safety culture
Drive collaboration with the supply chain and identify opportunities for value engineering
Requirements
Essential:
CSCS Card (Black or Gold)
SMSTS / SSSTS / IOSH
Proven experience as a Site Agent within highways or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of HSEQ standards and site management processes
Desirable:
NRSWA
Lantra 12D Traffic Management
Bridge maintenance experience
Surfacing / bituminous works experience
