6‑month Fixed Term Contract position or Contracting (Inside IR35) – possibility of extension
THE ROLE
As Technician for EDS Electrical to assemble & fix wiring harness routing & packaging with help of W/H guides and concept CAD for packaging components to current and future client road cars.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
This is a very important position and is responsible for wiring harness routing and packaging and executing the activities necessary to ensure validated release and sign-off of dedicated vehicle components and sub-systems including co-ordination to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas.
The area of responsibility your activities will include:
1. Expertise in the field of Electrical wiring harness design and development, data management, project management, co-ordination in automotive and\or passenger Vehicles
2. Understanding in CAD platforms: Catia V5 (electrical workbench), Capital Logic & Capital Harness is also welcome. Exposure to CREO /UG NX or Zuken is added advantage
3. Extensive assembly experience of Electrical routings & packaging, System Engineering and Engineering change management projects for Automotive.
4. Update harness based on packaging relocation and inform to system integration engineering team.
5. Develop effective routing paths with the help of retainers, channels, grommets.
6. Selection of proper retention items (. retention clips, cable ties, by referring 3D model & 2Drouting.
7. Selection of harness coverings based on 3D model routing and packaging & surrounding geometry.
8. Develop harness packaging issues list and drive resolution prior to validation builds.
9. Refer 2D harness drawing under respective 3D model
10. Experience of various change management processes like Engineering Change Requests etc.
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
Essential:
11. Engineering knowledge & Experience of activities (Wire Harness Design, DFMEA for passenger Vehicles)
12. Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
13. Experience of using industry standard ECR processes.
14. PC Literacy: CAD review systems, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.
15. Significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, DFM, DFA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.
16. Degree / Dipolma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline with an experience of 3 to 5 years in automotive industry or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
17. Prior Experience in Electrical wiring harness routing and packaging.
18. Demonstrable experience of system release responsibility from concept to manufacture.
19. Working knowledge of project delivery processes
