We are recruiting a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent practice in Swansea.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced vet who enjoys working within a close-knit, well-supported team and values good clinical standards, modern facilities, and a healthy work-life balance.
You'll be joining a friendly, experienced group of clinicians and nurses who prioritise collaboration, efficiency, and patient care.
The Role
1. Small animal, first-opinion position
2. Ideally suited to a vet with 2+ years' experience
3. Full-time role: hours per week
4. 4 day working week (Tuesday is a fixed working day)
5. Working hours: 8:00-18:15 with a 1-hour lunch break
6. 15-minute consultations with regular breaks built into the day
7. Surgery: 1-2 mornings per week, with the option to focus on consults if preferred
8. Weekend rota: 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:00-13:30)
9. No Sundays, no bank holidays
10. No out-of-hours (covered externally)
11. Minimal sole charge only on Saturdays, fully supported by nursing and reception staff
12. The practice is well known for excellent time management, vets leave on time, and workloads are carefully managed.

This is a well-equipped, independent small animal practice with a strong ethos of keeping cases in-house wherever possible.

15. In-house laboratory
16. Dental X-ray
17. Endoscopy
18. Orthopaedic equipment
The building is spacious and characterful, offering:
19. 4 consultation rooms
20. Separate dog and cat waiting areas
21. Dedicated diagnostic and X-ray rooms
22. Prep room
23. On-site parking
You'll be supported by:
24. A solid veterinary team, including a dental certificate holder
25. 5 qualified nurses running nurse clinics
26. 2 student nurses
27. 4 reception team members, ensuring excellent front-of-house support
Package & Benefits
28. Salary dependent on experience, reflective of an independent practice
29. 5 weeks' holiday plus bank holidays
30. Your birthday off
31. £2,000 CPD allowance
32. RCVS, VDS, plus one additional professional membership paid
33. Employer pension contribution
34. Statutory sick pay and maternity pay
35. Regular team training sessions

The practice is based in Swansea with good transport links and easy commuting options. The surrounding area offers a great quality of life, with access to coastline, countryside, and city amenities.
