Main duties and responsibilities:
Activities Co-ordinator.
To keep up to date with new ideas in activity provision, applying good practise and enhancing your own continuous professional development.
Responsible to create, plan and organise stimulating activities for residents to include for example, music, art, crafts and exercise programs. Organise and deliver group activities that create an environment of social engagement. Organise outing for residents for example, assisting residents with bus trips, shopping, gardening or attendance at a local church service, and local venues and support groups.
To be involved in the development of a residents and relatives' newsletter and notices of planned activities.
To report any concerns with activities or venues under risk assessment systems.
Articulate ideas and plans clearly and effectively with care colleagues for them to contribute and support the residents' activities and events as required.
General requirements
Report to the Care Manager any safeguarding or significant issues accurately, immediately and in compliance with the Penrice Houses reporting policy and procedure.
Always observe confidentiality.
Act with both personal and professional integrity and respect for others always, when liaising with the resident's family and external support agencies as part of the Penrice House team.
Ensure that your practice and your work is within the principles laid out in The Health and Safety at Work guidance, Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance, Equality Act 2010 regulations and Health and Social Care workers Code of Conduct.
Undertake statutory and mandatory training and development as required to maintain the role.
