As a Butcher you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate preparation and presentation of meat products within a fast-paced production environment. You will be responsible for portioning, trimming and packing a variety of different meats and cuts to meet customer needs, while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Working closely with the production, warehouse and quality assurance teams, you will ensure consistent product quality, effective use of specialist equipment and adherence to traceability and labelling procedures. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, physical stamina and a proactive approach to maintaining workflow and supporting team targets.
Shifts: 5 days a week (Including Weekends), 10pm-7am
Salary: Dependent on Level of Experience
Time Off: 30 days holiday + 22 additional days off
What You'll Be Doing:
* Prepare and process meat products including cutting, trimming and portioning to required specifications.
* Meeting daily targets as set by the business
* Quality checking products to ensure high standards
* Accurately label and package products
* Safe and effective use of machinery and cutting equipment
* Maintain high levels of house keeping, ensuring food hygiene standards are adhered to
* Maintain high standards of personal hygiene when handling meat products including hand washing, PPE use and accurate illness reporting
* Experience in a food environment handling raw meats (Required)
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Desired)
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong time management and attention to detail.
* Understanding of the different meat cuts
* Ability to use different knives and machinery safely and effectively
* Has the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
* Good computer skills
* Able to lift items up to 25kg
