A welcoming primary school in Newport is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support Nursery and Reception pupils, including children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood development and inclusive education.

The Role
Working within the EYFS, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping children access learning through structured play, clear routines, and positive reinforcement.
You may support pupils with:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
* Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH)
* Developmental delays or sensory processing needs
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils during daily classroom activities
* Assist with the implementation of IDPs/EHCPs
* Encourage communication, interaction, and emotional wellbeing
* Promote play-based and visual learning approaches
* Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt resources

✅ Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is:
* Patient, caring, reliable, and supportive
* Experienced in childcare, education, or ALN settings (personal experience considered)
* Familiar with EYFS and early learning strategies
* Confident supporting children with a range of needs
Suitable for Nursery Assistants, EYFS Practitioners, Learning Support Assistants, and ALN Teaching Assistants.

* Two recent references (within the last 24 months)
