Longlands Care Home is situated in Daventry and offers a safe, happy living environment for residents. Our team of friendly and committed staff provides the highest level of care, specializing in support for people living with dementia. Responsibilities

* You will work closely alongside the management and support team, running day‑to‑day shifts.
* Manage a team of staff, taking responsibility for induction training, continuous development and performance to meet policy and service objectives.
* Prioritize and direct workloads to staff, ensuring any issues are resolved promptly and that the health, safety and welfare of customers and employees are maintained.
* Assist the management team by recording and providing information to amend and update care plans, supporting changes in customers’ needs.
* Order, monitor and administer medication safely, ensuring prescribed drugs are used appropriately.
* Provide practical, personal and emotional care and support to WNC customers with diverse health and social care needs.
* Support customers to maintain or develop social networks and interests, organising or participating in activities of their choice, and treat them with kindness, respect and compassion.
* Maintain sensitivity and discretion in all verbal and written information (Data Protection).
* Demonstrate awareness and understanding of equal opportunity, and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
* Shift details: 12‑hour shifts with a mix of early and late times, alternating weekends.
* Visa sponsorship: This role does not meet the legal requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.


Qualifications

* Senior carer or shift lead experience, looking for permanent promotion.
* Prior experience in care leadership and an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care (ideal).
* Experience in management and development of service provision in a geographical area, planning future development to meet culturally diverse customer needs.
* Experience in annual resource reviews, budgeting and planning to meet customer needs within budget constraints.
* Experience promoting a customer voice, encouraging self and citizen advocacy.
* Knowledge of the Quality Commission (CQC) and relevant legislation and regulations, ensuring high‑quality care and support.
* Completed 2.5‑week induction training and 2‑4 week 'Buddy Scheme'; ready to settle in with no pressure to 'hit the ground running'.
