We have an exciting new opportunity for a Fire Safety Manager (Engineering). This role will help shape and strengthen IHG’s approach to fire risk management and join our new Safety & Security team based in Windsor, UK. As part of our Global Safety & Security team within the wider Business Reputation & Responsibility (BRR) function, you’ll partner closely with our EMEAA Safety & Security Directors, Development and Hotel Operations teams and with the Global Director for Brand Safety Standards to influence the global fire strategy and support the implementation of risk‑based fire safety controls across diverse markets.
What you’ll do:
* You’ll be hands‑on, leading fire safety for BRR across the EMEAA region, ensuring it aligns with internal IHG frameworks.
* Work with internal stakeholders and act as a business partner to embed practical, consistent fire safety decision‑making across the hotel lifecycle – from new builds to refurbishments and conversions.
* Drive capability building by creating training programmes, tools, and resources that strengthen knowledge and accountability across hotel teams.
* Develop assurance and compliance processes to help monitor performance, verify standards, and proactively manage risk.
* Provide expertise during incident investigations, ensuring robust responses and learnings are identified to continuously improve fire safety outcomes.
* Support due diligence on acquisitions and emerging risk reviews and help embed fire safety at the heart of business decisions.
What you’ll bring:
* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Experience of designing and implementing fire safety programmes.
* Understanding risk management, compliance, and assurance frameworks.
* Confident communicator with good presentation skills, able to translate technical information into clear actions.
* Pragmatic thinker, able to identify practical engineering solutions and also support wider projects with a fire safety focus.
* Experience of working in a multi‑region role and a property‑related sector is desirable, but not essential.
