This is a fixed term/secondment post until 31/03/2027 to cover maternity leave.

We are seeking to appoint a Service Manager to support the delivery and operational management of services in the Planned Care and Cancer Services Clinical Care Group.
Main duties of the job
Strategic And Operational Leadership:
This role will span multiple domains of Planned Care and Cancer Services, with a particular focus on Service Management and Service Improvement. Key responsibilities include:
Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure performance targets are met in line with Welsh Government strategies and the Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP).
Lead the performance management of service activities, ensuring alignment with agreed objectives and financial sustainability.
Monitor activity levels and access targets to support delivery of safe, effective, and financially balanced care.
Service Development And Change Management:
Drive implementation of service changes and improvement initiatives across pathways.
Develop, monitor, and refine systems, policies, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and clinical effectiveness.
Lead the rationalisation and reconfiguration of services where required, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
Risk Management And Contingency Planning:
Anticipate and respond to potential emergency situations, ensuring robust contingency plans are in place.
Maintain a proactive approach to service resilience, ensuring the department can respond effectively to patient needs at all times

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
