Job Purpose / Overview
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation of UK Nuclear Power Stations, gaining skills and experience to support Hinkley Point C (HPC) operations and potentially join the future HPC operating organization.
The Procurement Engineer Associate will assist Procurement Engineers in ensuring that spares, consumables, and materials needed for HPC commissioning and maintenance are delivered with the right quality and at the right time, prioritizing nuclear safety.
You will collaborate with various departments across the HPC project, including Pre-Operations, Commissioning, and Installation.
You will receive necessary training and access to technical documentation to perform your role effectively.
This role is part of the CommOps Supply Chain Team within the HPB CommOps Department Maintenance Programme, which manages maintenance strategies for HPC now and in the future.
CommOps oversees all commissioning and operational activities at HPC.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Owning the delivery of key elements of the Procurement Engineering Strategy
2. Managing emergent issues supporting the Procurement Engineering Strategy
3. Using digital tools to evaluate plant spares technically
4. Supporting operational spares catalogue production by creating catalogue identifiers and applying quality assurance grades
5. Conducting quality reviews of catalogue deliverables
6. Contributing to the development of digital tools
7. Supporting quality control inspections of operational spares
8. Creating operational process documents for procurement engineering and spares management
