Fundamental Commodity Researcher We are working with a systematic trading team that are looking for a highly driven Fundamental Commodity Researcher to generate alpha and enhance their understanding across energy, metals, and agricultural markets. This role involves building and maintaining Python based supply and demand models, and developing systematic, fair-value trading signals that feed directly into our portfolio construction process. Key Responsibilities Construct high-level supply and demand balances across liquid commodity markets (energy, metals, agriculture) Develop fair-value pricing models informed by balances and other market inputs Design and implement trading strategies based on fair-value signals and current/forward balances Enhance base models using advanced forecasting techniques and integration of alternative datasets Provide fundamental insights to support top-level portfolio hedging decisions Support & Resources Budget flexibility for acquiring key datasets and external vendor support Access to a robust data lakehouse and infrastructure Collaboration with quant researchers for signal development and modeling Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in fundamental commodity research and supply/demand modeling at a hedge fund, bank, prop shop, or major physical merchant Deep expertise your current sector Proficiency in Python Strong foundation in regression and time-series modeling Proven ability to translate domain knowledge into P&L-generating trade ideas
