You will be responsible for analysing and assessing the credit risk of our portfolios throughout the product lifecycle, including both onboarding/lending and in-life credit policies.

This role emphasises the evaluation and management of credit risk, ensuring that our credit policies are robust and effective.
You will provide critical insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes, focusing on maintaining the health and performance of our credit portfolios.
Working closely with the modelling and loss forecasting teams, you will ensure that data-driven insights and recommendations are made to maintain and improve the Bank’s credit risk position.
What you will do: Evaluate and optimise the creditworthiness assessment of potential clients during the onboarding phase, ensuring alignment with relevant regulation and the company's risk appetite.
Monitor the credit risk profile of existing portfolios, identifying and addressing potential risks throughout the loan lifecycle.
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate credit risk, ensuring the effectiveness of in-life credit policies.
Work closely with loss forecasting and credit modelling teams, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to underwriting, collections, compliance and risk, to ensure cohesive risk management practices.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit risk management to ensure the company's policies remain current and effective.
Analyse, recommend and implement opportunities to maximise customer and regulatory outcomes whilst balancing portfolio risk and growth.
Prepare and present detailed analysis and reports to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Contribute to the delivery of key business projects as required What you will bring: Comprehensive knowledge and experience of credit risk management processes within Financial Services, across all aspects of the credit life-cycle, particularly on on-boarding processes.
In-depth knowledge of prevailing regulation under both the FCA and PRA regimes (inc.
CONC, Consumer Duty).
Knowledge of ECB regulation desirable.
Ability to proactively problem solve and analyse complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
High level of proficiency with analytical data tools (such as SAS, SQL & Microsoft Office).
Excellent communication skills and adept at presenting to stakeholders at all levels, as well as strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
Act as a coach and a mentor, supporting the development of junior team members.
