Lecturer in ESOL - The Role
Are you passionate about teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)? Wiltshire College & University Centre invites an enthusiastic and dedicated Variable Hours Lecturer in ESOL to join our dynamic team. As a Lecturer in ESOL you will support adult learners in developing English language skills for everyday life, employment, and further education. You will deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote language acquisition, cultural understanding, and confidence‑building.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality ESOL sessions tailored to students’ individual needs and learning styles.
* Assess and track learners’ progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
* Support students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring courses remain relevant and effective in meeting learner needs.
* Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the overall student experience.
You:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
* A Level 5 (or above) ESOL/TEFL qualification is highly desirable.
* Experience teaching ESOL to adults in a Further Education or community setting.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on student‑centred learning.
* A commitment to inclusivity, engaging and supporting learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
* Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
