Clarks Vehicle Conversions is a UK-based company specializing in converting light commercial vehicles for a transient workforce. With expertise in designing and fitting welfare vehicles, racking solutions, crew carriers, and lining kits, Clarks is known for producing quality conversions that meet the demands of challenging environments. The company's 30,000 sq. ft. factory in Doncaster is centrally located and equipped to handle large fleet conversions as well as custom van interiors.
Summary
The Sales Manager role is responsible for leading and motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Overseeing daily sales operations, developing sales strategies, coaching team members, and maintaining strong relationships using proven methods including CRM systems and marketing techniques. The role is also responsible for supporting growth, delivering excellent communication levels and satisfying customer requirements for key accounts .
The Sales Manager will form part of the Senior Management Team and will work closely with the Business Development Director to drive client acquisition in line with the sales and marketing strategy. They will be accountable for the sales department by creating and reporting KPI’s, removing departmental obstacles and creating opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead and manage the sales team to drive revenue growth.
·Ownership of setting company and individual revenue budgets.
·Ownership of achieving the company revenue targets.
·Develop and implement effective sales strategies and KPIs.
·Monitor performance metrics and prepare regular reports on sales results.
·Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
·Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on achieving targets.
·Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other departments to align sales efforts.
·Handle high-value customer accounts and resolve escalations when required.
·Analyse market trends, customer data, and competitor activity.
·Use CRM systems to track opportunities, manage pipelines, and forecast sales.
·Support the recruitment and onboarding of new sales staff
Job Functions & Duties
·Manage daily sales duties including quoting, order entry, expediting and status updates
·Ownership of all sales tools including CRM software, pipeline, marketing/campaign tracker and other sales tools
·Manage and report on sales forecasting
·Produce and maintain sales budgets
·Arrange and attend customer meetings with all key accounts
·Produce information on all sales KPI’s
·Ownership of the marketing function ensuring direction is given to drive sales performance
·Ownership of the aftersales function ensuring direction is given to drive sales performance
·Analyse departmental performance and take action to improve required areas
·Work closely with all internal departments to resolve any blockers/obstacles that could impact sales performance
·Responsible for the management of sales employees with a focus on employee engagement
·Carry our performance reviews with all team members which will include setting goals and addressing training needs
·Responsible for all training, development, coaching and mentoring in line with business requirements
·Development of team to ensure they deliver the appropriate performance
·Ownership of all HR issues relating to all sales employees
·Continuous review of staff members performance and requirement of individual roles focusing on a flexible workforce
·Responsible for creating effective departmental processes and controls in line with QMS
Skills & Attributes
·Proven experience in a sales leadership role, ideally in an internal environment
·Strong understanding of sales principles, techniques, and CRM systems.
·Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams.
·Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
·Commercially aware with a focus on results and customer satisfaction.
·Proficiency in MS Office and sales software (ERP systems etc)
·Be sales focused and have the enthusiasm to grow customer accounts
·Have the desire to uphold a high level of customer service
·Have the ability to handle pressure and manage multiple projects
