Are you a good team player with a positive outlook? Do you have experience working or volunteering with dogs? If so, join our Dogs team as a Part-Time Intake and Assessment Officer working 15 hours a week each Saturday and Sunday providing daily animal care and support to the pets in our care. Our ideal candidate will have an aptitude for animal behaviour, knowledge of animal health and a thorough understanding of how to provide excellent customer service. In this role you'll be working alongside other Intake and Assessment Officers, Pet Matching Officers and Dog Care Specialists to provide the best care to our dogs and prepare them for new homes. This will include providing daily care, keeping records up to date and sharing your knowledge with our fosterers and customers. You will have the chance to make a real difference and contribute to overall rehoming outcomes. In addition, you will; Conduct on-going assessments of dogs to get them ready for fostering and/or rehoming Assist in the rehoming and matching of dogs as necessary Ensure all health and safety standards are maintained for yourself and colleagues Provide stimulating environments and activities for the pets in our care to promote physical and mental well-being Train and support volunteers to enhance dog welfare and operations To be considered for this opportunity you will need; Proven communications skills within a team A basic understanding and skills for Microsoft Office To be able to work both independently and under supervision The ability to work under pressure, whilst applying pragmatism to difficult situations The starting salary for this position is £24,570 - £24,716 pro rata per annum, depending on experience. This will be complemented by; 36 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to 40 days after five years Up to 8% employer pension contributions Support towards healthcare costs (cashplan) Free access to Headspace Life assurance (4x salary) 25% discount in our charity shops.
