The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
Duties may vary with the type of ward / department and the degree of patient dependency
Additional required after 2 years Post registration
The post holder will direct, coordinate and supervise, where appropriate, the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practice in relation to patient care an in the absence of the senior charge nurse/team leader, or deputy, the post holder will provide cover to ensure effective operation of the ward /department

What we\'ll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
* The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have
* Evidence of CPD e.g. Flying Start, meeting PREP standards
* Evidence of post registration skills e.g. IV Drug therapy, cannulation and phlebotomy
* Evidence of positive role Modelling
Contract type
Fixed Term for 1 Year
Full time 37 hours
Part Time 22.24 hours
Please note for the part time post the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Please note this is a fixed term for 1 Year. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location
This role will be based in Vascular within University Hospital Hairmyres.
