Overview
We are now inviting applications for the post of Bank Sterile Services Technician. This is a bank position, working on an ad‑hoc basis and is based at Ramsay Sterile Services East Midlands in Kettering. We recently opened a new Decontamination Hub in Kettering in April 2023 and are looking for staff to be part of this exciting new development! The purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art unit will provide an efficient decontamination service to nine Ramsay Hospital sites and will be operational 24/7, including weekend cover. A full training programme will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Perform the full decontamination cycle on reusable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line with Ramsay policies and procedures.
* Participate fully in quality control processes, ensuring procedures and documentation are completed accurately at all times.
* Work on an ad‑hoc basis, filling in shifts as required to maintain service levels during peak times or staff shortages.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Decontamination Technician within a health‑care setting.
* Sound written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
* Good computer skills (MS Office).
* Flexibility and adaptability.
* Demonstrated customer‑service skills.
* Willingness to work occasional night shifts once competence is achieved.
