We are working with a well-established, multi-site engineering business with a strong reputation in the industry. Operating from their Liverpool facility, they specialise in electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering, offeringplete turnkey solutions including fault-finding, repair, and manufacturing services for a wide range of clients. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Electrical Engineer/Fitter to their team.
Your new role
As an Electrical Engineer/Fitter, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical rotating equipment. Key duties include:
1. Dismantling and repairing motors (AC & DC), brake motors, gearboxes, pumps, and fan units.
2. Performing static and dynamic testing, including transformer testing and repair.
3. Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective repairs.
4. Reassembling and testing equipment post-repair.
5. Working with motor voltages up to 415V and test voltages up to 2kV.
6. Attending client sites to test and analyse motors and generators using standard industry equipment.
7. (Preferable) Experience with alternators and fault-finding.
The ability to detail and wind armatures, stators, and rotors will be highly advantageous and may attract preferential rates. This role also includes rostered out-of-hours cover, whiches with generous remuneration.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Proven experience in repairing electrical rotating equipment.
9. Strong knowledge of dismantling and testing motors, gearboxes, pumps, and transformers.
10. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
11. Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends during busy periods.
12. (Desirable) Skills in winding armatures, stators, and rotors.
