PQS – Senior Quantity Surveyor – WOKING
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Ø Woking – Surrey (25 minute public transport from London City Centre)
Ø CONSULTANCY cost management

Ø M&E Knowledge is a HUGE benefit (not essential)
Ø £460 MILLION Town Development project (Hotel, apartments, tower blocks etc)
Ø All expenses paid!
Ø 3 Years minimum on this project, potential for very senior role within company after completion
Ø LEADING NI BASED CONSULTANCY
Ø Salary/Package – (£50k+/-) Experience dependant – Above industry PQS average due to travel/England based role
THE CANDIDATE
The employer is open to applications from Northern Ireland/ROI based Quantity Surveyors who would be willing to travel to Woking throughout the week (All expenses paid, accommodation provided). They are also open to candidates who would base themselves full time in Woking or people who are already from the area, and would be happy to commute. This would be a benefit to the candidate whenever the possibility may arise after this project, of some more work in that area.
THE PROJECT
This £460 million shopping centre new build is a fantastic opportunity for a senior Quantity Surveyor to make this project their own and stamp their name on a massive project! With at least 3 years work with this project, this is a full time post with huge potential to step into a very senior role and run all of this consultancies work in the Woking/Surrey area.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Estimate materials
Ø Keep track of changes to design or construction work
Ø Measure and value of the work produced
Ø Understanding of estimating budgets
Ø Prepare contract documents like bills of quantities etc
Ø Dealing/liaising with clients, architects and anyone else involved in the process
Ø Negotiation and analysis of costs for tenders/contracts
Ø Production of information and detailed findings into reports
Ø Adhere to health and safety regulations
THE OPPORTUNITY
Working directly with 2 senior members (Partners) of the business on this huge project, the successful candidate will be the main consultancy QS on this project with the partners of the company making weekly visits to site, helping with work, meetings and other duties. It’s a head turning project that will further develop the career of the senior QS who is successful in the application. Interviews are taking place now in Belfast office if you are NI/ROI based, or in Woking for any candidates who are already located in England.
