Team – Early Years and School Readiness
We have 1 vacancy for Early Years Home Learning Development Workers. The post is full time (37 hours per week) and is a 3‑year fixed‑term contract linked to recurring funding.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical and emotional support to children and their families.
* Plan and implement programmes of agreed work with children and their families.
* Promote parents’ participation in sessions and their child’s development.
* Effectively support and deliver the home‑based learning element of the Best Start for Life Strategy through Family Hubs, Early Years, Childcare settings and home environments.
* Act as a champion for disadvantaged children, improving outcomes at the earliest opportunity.
* Collaborate with Family Hub colleagues and partner agencies to support the development of the local Home Learning Environment offer and prepare children for school readiness.
* Confidently deliver packages of training for multi‑agency professionals including early years childcare and school settings to ensure a coordinated approach when supporting children and families in early years, childcare and education settings.
* Liaise with stakeholders within and outside of the Council to support the above.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
You will be part of a skilled, friendly and supportive team and work closely with a wide range of professionals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
* Proven ability to influence, negotiate and develop joint objectives with stakeholders and senior decision makers, achieving these through effective relationships.
* Experience of multi‑agency working.
* Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
* Experience of working with families in the home, childcare/educational settings or community settings.
* Ability to work across the borough of Bury, delivering services within our three localities.
Working Hours and Location
Full time (37 hours per week) with a 3‑year fixed‑term contract. You may be required to work on a rota basis, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Services are delivered across the borough of Bury, within our three localities.
