Job Title: CNC Operator / Setter
Location: AndoverSalary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour (DOE)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentHours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Overview
Our client, a well-established and growing precision engineering company, is currently seeking experienced CNC Operators/Setters to join their day shift manufacturing team. With a strong presence in the Automotive, Motorsport, Defence, and Electronics sectors, this is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on high-precision, low-volume components using state-of-the-art CNC machining technology.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC Horizontal/Vertical machining centres (Mazak, Heidenhain, and Fanuc controls)
* Edit CNC programs at the machine as required to optimise performance
* Produce first-off components and support production runs to ensure accuracy and quality
* Inspect own work using appropriate measuring tools and techniques
* Record production data and maintain routing sheet documentation
* Maintain organisation by returning drawings, fixtures, and tools to the correct locations
* Follow safety and quality standards to ensure product conformity
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction and process enhancements
* Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in CNC milling with the ability to set and operate machinery
* Comfortable working to tight tolerances and inspecting high-precision components
* Knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T)
* Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Education & Experience
* GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
* HNC Level 3 in Engineering (desirable)
* Alternatively, a strong, proven track record in CNC machining will be considered
