Springwood High School are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and creative MFL Teacher for full time Maternity Cover to teach German (to KS5) and French (years7/8) to join our team. The successful candidate will need to provide our students with an outstanding education in MFL, and work collaboratively with departmental staff in our high performing department.

Start Date: January 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS as appropriate
Temporary till 31st December 2026 (Maternity Cover)

Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to join our highly successful MFL faculty. You will share your passion for language learning with the students and make an important contribution to our department.

Timetabled languages offered at KS3-5 are French, German and Spanish. We would welcome applications from well-qualified candidates who are able to teach German to Key Stage 5. As well as German, the timetable also consists of year 7 and 8 French. Proven success at GCSE and A level is essential.

This post is to cover a maternity leave for up to 1 year. There is likely to be the opportunity at the end of the maternity leave to continue at the school part-time.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

· To meet all requirements of the Teachers’ Standards.

· Within the designated curriculum area, to implement, deliver and contribute to the published scheme of work.

· To shape the learning experience to motivate and encourage students to achieve their full potential.

· To monitor the progress of students and provide support to ensure personal and academic growth.

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities

· To deliver the designated programme of teaching as presented in the published scheme of work.

· To use a variety of delivery methods to stimulate learning, appropriate to student abilities.

· To prepare and update subject materials.

· To ensure a high-quality learning experience for students that meets internal and external quality

standards.
