About the role We are seeking passionate and committed Family Support Workers to join our Complex Safeguarding Service, with a dedicated focus on tackling exploitation and risk outside the home. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people. You will work directly with young people and their families, delivering targeted interventions to reduce risk, build resilience, and promote positive outcomes. These roles are central to our statutory duties in Safeguarding Children and Young People, ensuring that robust systems are in place to identify, assess, and respond to the risks associated with criminal, sexual and other forms of exploitation. Key Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with children and young people who may be vulnerable to exploitation (including criminal and sexual exploitation) Undertake assessments, and contribute to effective safety planning, and multi-agency safeguarding processes Deliver creative, trauma informed interventions tailored to individual needs Work in partnership with families to strengthen protective factors and improve outcomes Work closely with partner agencies including police, health services, education and social care Support young people to engage in education, training and positive activities Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings About You We are looking for individuals who: Have substantial experience working with children, young people, or families in a support, youth work, or safeguarding role. Understand the risks associated with exploitation and extra-familial harm. Are skilled in building relationships with young people who are often resistant to work with professionals. Able to deliver targeted interventions to young people in a trauma informed way Can work flexibly, including some evenings and occasional weekends. Are resilient, reflective, and able to manage complex and challenging situations. Have strong communication and partnership working skills, with the ability to coordinate multi-agency responses.
